Oriel y Parc Artist in Residence 21st September - 16th October 2015

Linda Norris

Linda Norris is an artist working in paint and glass who lives in North Pembrokeshire. Drawn by the feeling of the landscape, Linda first came to live and paint in Wales 35 years ago. Seven years ago Linda began to work in glass and has since won a number of public commissions and major awards for her glass work, including the Adrian Henri Poetry in Art Prize. This year her work was selected for The British Glass Biennale.

At Oriel y Parc Linda will be developing work for ‘ob•serve’, a project which is supported by a grant from the Arts Council of Wales. Since April, Linda has worked for one week a month at Skokholm Island Bird Observatory off the Pembrokeshire coast. During her residency at Oriel y Parc she will be processing inspiration and themes drawn from her time on the island, and preparing for an exhibition which will take place in Oriel y Parc Tower, in July and August 2016.

Linda will also be offering public workshops following her residency.
Linda will give a talk about her work on Friday 17 October at 6pm at Oriel y Parc
